In late 1997, undercover FBI agent Joseph G. Rogoskey observed "what he considers serious and criminal misconduct by federal workers during a top secret, undercover national security operation." FBI Director Louis Freeh, Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder, and attorney Lyn Brown denied Rogoskey permission to report this information to President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Madeline Albright. The FBI placed Rogoskey on leave in 1998 and began an intrusive investigation into him. [1]

An FBI attorney named Lynn Brown had made "inconsistent, self-serving, misleading and false" statements about the use of pyrotechnic gas grenades in the Waco attack of 1993. It is not known if this is the same Lyn Brown. [2]
